Available Now: First Prototype of Our New Board Game, ElectionQuest
Where practice meets play for election readiness!
Teamwork is at the heart of what we do at the U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce ElectionQuest, a brand-new board game prototype designed to bring creativity and fun to our shared commitment to election excellence. We hope that by creating a casual and lighthearted way to connect and learn, we can help to lower our collective stress and invite more joy into our work.
What is ElectionQuest?
ElectionQuest is a nonpartisan, collaborative board game that celebrates and integrates the Alliance’s core values: high integrity, comprehensive preparedness, voter-centricity, proactive transparency, and continuous improvement.
In August 2025, we debuted our first prototype of ElectionQuest to a roomful of election officials at the Election Center National Conference in Salt Lake City, UT. Thanks to the thoughtful feedback, energy, and stories shared by participants, we’re hopeful that our game will inspire community and fun in election offices around the country.
How to Play
Playing ElectionQuest is simple, and no special equipment is required!
- Download and print your materials:
- Board PDF (11×17)
- Game Instructions and Values Sheet (8.5×11)
- Card Deck PDF (8.5×11)
- Supply your own game pieces and tokens. Whatever you have handy will work, like coins, paperclips, or buttons.
- Read the instructions and start playing!
Coming Soon: Our New Certification Program!
This ElectionQuest prototype is just the beginning. Based on feedback, we may update ElectionQuest with new card decks, additional game options, or other improvements in the future.
We’re also gearing up for the public launch of the Alliance Certification Program, happening in 2026. The certification program is built to global ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards to ensure credibility and impartiality—all while shining a national spotlight on the hardworking election administrators at the frontlines of our democracy (that’s you!).
Election departments will apply to be certified in the voluntary, nonpartisan Standards for Election Excellence. Through the certification process, your office can:
- Improve election operations, security, and accessibility
- Access the tools and data you need to advocate for critical public funding
- Build voter trust and confidence
- Join a community of local election departments dedicated to election excellence
As a certified election office, your team won’t just receive well-deserved public recognition. You’ll be able to deliver a quality voting experience with streamlined processes that builds voter confidence, strengthens community trust, and emphasizes your commitment to integrity and excellence in elections — something to be extremely proud of!
